Interestingly though when I later disconnected my laptop from the wired connection and went wireless (ie: connected to the study router), still with media sharing enabled both ways on it (ie: the laptop as the sharer as well as sharee), my TV and PS3 picked up the laptop's DLNA services. I've just plugged my laptop into the switch in the lounge and WMP couldn't find the DLNA services. I've swapped the AP and EP settings and also physically swapped the two plugs around and gone through all the config/additional device setup options without any luck. There doesn't appear to be any reference to the Homeplug standards in the guide or Declaration of Conformity, so it would appear they aren't Homeplug standard devices - not that that should stop them working as expected.Įdit: having seen your diag, can your laptop and wmp see the server if you plug it into the switch in the lounge ? Do you have them the correct way round ? You also have to go through a procedure to add additional devices - see the guide.Ĭuriously, no mention in the guide of web access to them. You have to have them the right way round: AP at the router/switch, EP at the device (PS3 / Telly) end.
They are configured as an AP (Access Point - serial number ending in "A") and EP (End Point) devices.
If they are, I've just had a look at the userguide on the web and unlike true Homeplugs, they are not simple devices.
Are these the ComTrend Powergrid 902 devices ? edit overlapping post - yes the are
